Steve Taylor – Owner & Founder
Steve is the Owner and Founder of HOPE @ Lake Norman, which was founded in 2010. He has served as head coach since the program’s inception. Recently, Steve stepped down as head coach and has taken the role of assistant coach for the team.

Quinn Martin – Head Coach
Quinn has played for such coaches as Jeff Tisdale, Bob Lee, Nunnie Robinson, and Ray Buscemi. He received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He employs the no huddle, veer, multiple pro, and multiple spread offenses. Quinn started with the Fear during the 2011 season as the Offensive Coordinator and has now taken over head coach duties. Quinn and his family reside in Charlotte,NC .

Billy Pernell – Defensive Coordinator
Billy graduated from Hickory High School where he was selected as an All-Conference football player in 2004 & 2005 before graduating in 2006. He was a recipient of the “People Helping People” college scholarship, sponsored by State Employee’s Credit Union for community volunteering. Coach Pernell attended East Carolina University, majored in Sports Studies and minored in Business Administration, and graduated in 2010. In 2009, he was a ‘Walk-On’ to ECU’s varsity football program under head coach “Skip” Holtz. Coach Pernell was hired by the Carolina Panthers in May 2011 and works as a Sales Associate in the Ticket Sales & Operations department as well as a Fitness Consultant for Sports & Fitness, LLC. He became involved with the Lake Norman Fear in 2012.

Ted Mackey – Defensive Line Coach
Coach Mackey Resides in Charlotte , NC . He is a cowboy & lives the cowboy way of life. As Defensive Line Coach with the Fear, Coach Mackey brings the intensity and constant/consistent instruction to his players. He is dedicated to the success of the Fear and has become an integral part of the team.

Earl Adams – Director of Game Day Operations
Earl has been with the Fear for four years.He spent the first two years as an offensive lineman and the past two seasons as the Director of Game Day Operations.He also works with NASCAR as a Rescue and Fire Tech.Earl Attened South Iredell High School.

Dr. Dan Zagst – Team Doctor
Dr. Zagst is a chiropractor at Advanced Health and Chiropractic in Mooresville , NC . He is originally from Buffalo , NY . He received his Doctorate from New York Chiropractic College along with an Advanced Certificate in Sport Science and Human Performance. Having designed and developed his own soft tissue treatment tool, Dr. Dan successfully treats a variety of sports injuries while lowering the overall playing time lost due to injuries. By combining soft tissue treatment with chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Dan accelerates the body’s natural healing process.

Jesse Coffey – Director of Marketing and Sales
This is Jesse’s first full season with the Fear. He joined the team midway through last season. Jesse attended South Caldwell High School in Granite Falls , NC . He worked with the American Legion Post 29 team in Caldwell County as well as the Lenoir Oilers. During the off season, he loves to spend time with his wife and son.
